Measuring guide

01

Wall measurements

Requirements

Start by sketching out the room shape and adding wall measurements (in mm) as you go. Make a note of the ceiling height too.

Tips

  • If you have a sloping roof, measure the ceiling’s shortest and tallest points.
  • Try to measure the ceiling in 2 areas on opposite sides of the room as it can fluctuate.

02

Doors + windows

Requirements

Add your windows and doors to the drawing and note the individual smaller wall measurements.

Tips

  • Try to include the windowsill height so that we can see if we can place furniture underneath it.
  • Mark if your doors open inside or outside of the room, knowing this will help your designer refine the flow of the kitchen.

Check all your measurements add up!

03

Add services

Requirements

Mark any existing services in the room such as radiators, boiler, existing plumbing, and electrical sockets.

Tips

  • Don’t worry if you don’t know where sockets are going yet, we can help you decide.
  • Include the height, width, and depth of your boiler and if there are any pipes associated.

More detail the better

04

Send images

Requirements

If you have other designs, architect plans, or pictures of the space, these are all helpful to send to your designer before your appointment.

Show any sloped ceilings, beams, pillars, and tricky corners.

Tips

  • Pictures of any unusual spaces help, also of any boilers you have in the room.
  • A quick video is also a great option to give your designer a better understanding of your space.
