How long have you been designing kitchens for? How did you get into it?

6 years – after completing my degree in Textile design, I found myself lost in which direction to go. I happened to see an advert for a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom designer in a showroom. I fell in love with kitchen design instantly.

Who inspires you?

I am inspired by everyone around me and my environment. I gain inspiration on design by visiting different cities, taking in the architecture and interior design.

Favourite kitchen trend

I do really love a pop of colour in a kitchen, but my current favourite trend is ‘Moody Kitchens’. I love dark colours and features in a kitchen to create a cosy ‘moody’ vibe. I don’t agree that dark colours are only for bigger spaces, I think they work in every space and it’s how you accessorise and use lighting to your advantage.

Top tip for designing?

Imagine using the space you are designing. It’s the dream to have an aesthetic kitchen but if it isn’t practical and doesn’t work for you and your household then there’s no point. Eliminate those daily irritations that you currently have in your kitchen and build the ideal space for you now and future you!

Unpopular opinion

Dark colours absolutely do work in smaller spaces!
