We teamed up with TV personality, makeup director and colour expert Dom Skinner to launch The Colour Behind the Smile, five limited edition kitchen collections that champion maximalism through bold colour.
Dom Skinner had long been searching for a kitchen design company that could truly capture his vision — but none felt quite right. Until Smile. Together, we brought his dream kitchen to life, and what began as a single project soon grew into an exciting creative partnership. From there, the collaboration evolved into five exclusive kitchen collections. Drawing on vivid and colourful memories from his own life, Dom worked with our expert designers to craft each design. With our colour match service, he translated his signature palette into unique shades that bring every collection to life. The result is a series of standout collections — Dolly Mixture, Cherry Cola, Future Nostalgia, Kitchen Kisses and Pop Shock — each one capturing a distinct personality and mood. From sorbet shades to rich reds, these designs celebrate individuality and invite you to express your own style at home.
Inspired by Dom’s playful spirit and fond memories of long summer days at his grandma’s, Dolly Mixture captures the joy of sneaking sweets and soaking up endless fun. It’s a sprinkle of nostalgia, a dollop of delight, and a big scoop of comfort, all reflected in a vibrant, bold, and whimsical palette of Sorbet, Swirl, Minted, and Candi.
Kitchen Kisses celebrates the magic found in everyday connections, the stolen kisses during dinner prep, the charm of cosy date nights, and the spark of reconciliations. A rich, vibrant palette of luxurious colours and textures featuring X’s and Whirlwind brings warmth and energy to any space, echoing the intimacy and passion captured in Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss (1907–08).
Future Nostalgia captures the ebb and flow of trends, carefully chosen to evoke a sense of energy and optimism, showing how colour can define a space and a moment in time. The palette, featuring Future, balances timeless sophistication with contemporary vibrancy, creating kitchens that feel forward-thinking yet grounded, dynamic yet familiar. Future Nostalgia is a celebration of how colour can tell a story, marking the fleeting trends that shape our lives while leaving a lasting impression.
Cherry Cola is inspired by Dom’s love for all things cherry cola, capturing the playful and effervescent energy of his favourite treat. Deep cherry reds, glossy maroons, and rich cola accents reflected in Popp, Cola, and Whirlwind echo the nostalgic joy of cinema trips, the tangy taste of cola bottles, and the refreshing fizz of summer drinks. Translating into bold colours and spirited design, Cherry Cola turns kitchens into spaces that feel rich, lively, and full of character.
Pop Shock channels the captivating glow of neon lights into the kitchen. Vivid pops of colour meet crisp white elements to create luminous, electrifying contrasts. Featuring Candi and Ripple, the palette celebrates bold expression and playful energy, with sleek finishes and radiant accents that craft a space feeling vibrant, modern, and electric, much like the dynamic makeup looks that have taken the beauty world by storm.

“When you experiment with creativity and colour every day for a living, that passion doesn’t just stay within the confines of your job, it bleeds into other areas of your life and finds other creative outlets.
This entire colour palette collection was born out of me actually designing my own kitchen with Smile. I wanted to create a space that evoked memories through meaningful colours, and sparked joy for me every time I was in the space.
I brought sentimental photographs to the Smile design team, rather than your typical kitchen inspiration, and we worked together to try and bring my nostalgic memories to life through design and colour.
And then we didn’t stop, we curated five more kitchen collections together, inspired by all sorts of stories and memories from my life, from the nostalgia of childhood sweets to the colours that have persevered with me throughout my career with Mac Cosmetics.”
