Meet the designer
I’ve been designing kitchens for several years,. I love solving layout puzzles while adding warmth through colour, texture, and thoughtful details.
How long have you been designing kitchens for? How did you get into it?
I’ve been designing kitchens for several years now, but my journey began around nine years ago. My first step into the world of real estate was when I was offered a job at a local estate agency. That experience sparked my obsession with fixing layouts that didn’t quite work. Alongside that, I’ve always had a love for texture and colour, which naturally led me to study printed textiles and surface pattern at university. I still use those design principles today, blending usability with creativity. For me, a kitchen is another kind of puzzle: balancing what you want, what you love, and what truly works in the space. It gives me the best of both worlds, looking at layout practicality while also bringing in the warmth of colours, textures, and accessories.
Who inspires you?
George Clarke is a huge inspiration for me. I think I’ve watched every TV episode he’s ever made! His way of transforming homes with both practicality and creativity has always resonated with me. I’ve even had the honour of designing a kitchen for his show Building Homes. A real pinch-me moment in my career!
Favourite kitchen trend
I love an appliance garage and pantry/Larder-style spaces. They’re such clever, functional features that bring order to a busy kitchen while letting the rest of the space shine.
Top tip for designing?
Design for you, not for trends. A kitchen should work for the way you live, cook, and move. Trends come and go, but a well-designed space that genuinely suits your lifestyle will always feel timeless.
Unpopular opinion
I don’t believe trends should sway your decision-making. They’re great for inspiration, but your kitchen should be built around your needs—not outside noise.
Favourite thing about designing?
The kitchen is the heart of the home, even if you’re not a big cook. It’s where people gather, talk, and connect. Being able to create a space that brings people together and genuinely works for them, is the best part of my job!
Something you do in your spare time?
I love trying new hobbies, and recently I’ve been taking a pottery throwing course. There’s something really relaxing about working with your hands, very different from kitchen design but equally creative.
